Dr. Donna's Review

About the Film
Tom and Jerry: The Fast and the Furry Movie is a lighthearted story about the popular cartoon characters, Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse, enrolling in an automobile race in order to win a new home for their mistress. The automobile race is the centerpiece of a “reality show” designed to win audiences. Tom and Jerry compete against five other competitors and the race takes them through some amazing adventures and by the end of it, they have actually gone around the world.

For Parents
The different vehicles used by the race competitors are wildly creative. Parents can use the inventiveness of the competitors to talk with children about creativity, and about how what seem to be wild and crazy ideas can sometimes turn into tomorrow's new inventions.

In classic “Tom & Jerry” fashion, the characters are squashed, smashed, run over and the like. Parents can talk about how cartoons do not represent reality and encourage kids to identify some of the more unrealistic moments from the film.
